Negli ultimi 12 anni ho fotografato la
nostra crescente comunità ecologica.
Situata a soli 3,5 km dal confine
settentrionale di Israele con il Libano,
sembrava sufficientemente lontana dalla
cultura tradizionale per provare un nuovo
modello comunitario. Entrambi i miei figli
sono nati, cresciuti ed educati in un
contesto più ampio del nostro nucleo
familiare. 4 mesi fa è scoppiata la guerra e
subito abbiamo dovuto abbandonare tutti
il nostro villaggio, senza sapere quando e
se saremmo potuti tornare indietro.
Lontano da casa, sparso per Israele,
ultimamente mi chiedo spesso: quanto
una comunità e il luogo in cui viviamo ci
modellano e lasciano un segno nella
nostra identità individuale?

For the past 12 years I have been photographing our growing ecological community. Located only 3.5 km from Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, it felt far enough from the mainstream culture to try a new community model. Both my children were born, raised and educated to a wider context than our nuclear family. 4 months ago war broke out and at once we all had to abandon our village, not knowing when and if we could go back. Far away from home, scattered across Israel, I ask myself a lot lately: how much does a community and the place we live at shapes us and leaves a mark on our individual identity?
