Valanga di vita quotidiana

“Valanga di vita quotidiana” è una sequenza che raffigura gli spazi di un centro studentesco in fase di ristrutturazione. Questo centro fu costruito in una università nazionale di Taiwan. È un antico, complesso edificio modernista, che include una caffetteria, club studenteschi, sale riunioni e due eleganti scalinate. Negli ultimi decenni moltissime persone si sono riunite, hanno giocato e hanno percorso l’edificio. Una normale scena del loro quotidiano, fino a che non è iniziata la ristrutturazione. 

Ho provato a esplorare e immortalare il centro attraverso il suo periodo di demolizione e ristrutturazione. Le pareti tremavano con un gran fragore e le rocce del pavimento precipitavano per le scale come una valanga. Scattando queste immagini, ho compreso gradualmente che – anche se si verifica una valanga nella nostra vita – c’è sempre qualcosa di prezioso celato al suo interno. C’è sempre luce. 

Avalanche of Everyday Life

“Avalanche of Everyday Life” is a series depicts the spaces of a student center under renovation. This student center was built in a national university in Taiwan. The center is an old, complex building of Modernism, which includes the cafeteria, student clubs, gathering halls, and two elegant staircases. In the last several decades, countless people have gathered, played and walked in the building- it was a common scene in their everyday life, until the renovation began.

I tried to explore and photograph the center through the period of demolition and reconstruction. The walls trembled with big noise, and the rocks of the floor fell onto the stairs like an avalanche. By shooting these images, I gradually understood that even if an avalanche happened in our everyday life, there is still something precious hiding within it. There is always light.
